Possibly my most detailed painting yet, this is a snapshot of where the Gardener, Samwise Gamgee lives. This is his beautiful garden. I painted this back when I was studying environments and I really love how it turned out All the little details of the pansies, the little waterpail, the grass they all seem to stand out. I really enjoyed this piece and would like to make more environmental studies like these since I am weak at drawing backgrounds.
I think I have done this many times, this piece and still I cannot find satisfaction in it. I wonder why. I want her to be an ethereal beauty with roses and flowers on her and to make all that gold stand out. I want her to be a goddess, yet I cannot complete the image in my head and put it into paper. Nevertheless, I tried and it was not a bad attempt.
Again, this is on my list of Redos if only for the fact that I have a need to paint her correctly, Still I love this concept and will update this page for any progress on this piece.
This is a piece recalling pieces of my childhood and some fantasies. I honestly did not plan a lot for this piece, it came about in a flight of whimsy. I guess, I was thinking about Alice in Wonderland, I was also thinking about toys and clocks and other things. I was just recalling my time of freedom from stress and came up with this collage of many elements.
It is done in watercolor and gouache, painted loose. I do like how this is laid out and the elements, but I do have to improve on it. I feel like I want to do a 2nd version of this just to see how far I can push this concept. But for now, she is one of my favorite originals.
Fan art dedicated to the awesome universe that Uncle Rick Riordan created. I just love it so much that it has to have its section! I love the whole universe of acceptance and love he has created through his books. Plus, he created some of the most dynamic and amazing characters I have ever met! Will update this from time to time. ❤
